Massachusetts Black Legislative Caucus is established.

Created after five African-Americans are elected to the legislature from Boston, its purpose is “to work toward Black empowerment across the State of Massachusetts, with priority attention being given to the problems of Boston’s Black community with a view toward developing models for problem-solving/community development that can be transported.”
